| In 1971 Mike was stationed over in Germany. The next year would bring the death of our father. He was 46. Mike flew back for the funeral and to be with mom & I. There are no words to describe what that loss meant to our family. I don't think Mike ever found peace with it. I just recently
discovered that he buried his wings with Dad. I found that out when
a special cousin asked me if he could bury his wings with Mike. Of
course, we said yes.
A few months later, mom & I flew to Germany to spend sometime with Mike. It was wonderful to be together again and our time there was special. In 1974 Janet gave birth to Jessica! A few months later they would come back to the states and be stationed in Al. Jess was a little sweetie and my brother was the proudest and best Dad I've ever seen! Michele's birth was to follow in 1976. It always made me sad to know that Mike never had the joy of sharing his girls with Dad. He would have loved them!
Michele & Jessica Mike decided to leave the Army & began the Ozark Amphibian Center ( a research facility ) with Danny Golda. Yup, he raised FROGS!
Sadly, Mike & Jan chose to end their marriage. Soon after, his love for flying brought him to NJ where he worked as a crop duster, and flew signs for Phoenix Aviation. There he met and fell in love with Nikki.
They started their new life together in Worcester, Ma. Mike was the lead pilot for "Life Flight".
After some years of doing that, they moved to Martha's Vineyard to follow a dream. Mike had always wanted to run a Mom & Pop airline. They soon were managing the Katama Air field. It was on the grass strip there that Nikki & Michael were married.
